Salam Leaves

Salam leaves (daun salam) is not edible and used for its strong fragrance only. They are usually removed from the dish after cooking. This can not be substituted with bay leaves. Should be omitted if not available. 

Shrimp Paste

Shrimp paste (terasi, belacan)This is commercially packaged shrimp paste which we normally use at home. It is very convenience since it is packed in 5 gr – pack individually.

Stinky beans (petai, pete, petay)
